We understand that in order to provide the best care to our patients, we must first understand the mechanisms and cofactors that drive progression to celiac disease. We also need to understand how to best manage this chronic condition, long-term, since it has a significant social impact on those who are diagnosed with it.
Our research is conducted under the umbrella of the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute at McMaster University, a leading Canadian centre for digestive and celiac disease research. Our clinical research focuses on improving celiac disease diagnosis, long-term management, and testing novel therapies.
Under the leadership of Prof. Elena Verdu, Associate Director of the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute, we have a unique opportunity for translational research to understand cofactors and how our gut microbiome can influence celiac disease.
We are committed to driving research in celiac disease
How can I participate?
We could not advance our knowledge of celiac disease and wheat sensitivities without your help!
