Dr. Pinto-Sanchez obtained her MD certification in 2002 and completed her Gastroenterology training in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She joined the Farncombe Institute at McMaster University in 2010 and obtained a Master of Science in Health Research Methodology degree in 2014.  

She completed a Clinical Gastroenterology and Nutrition fellow in 2017 in the Division of Gastroenterology at McMaster University and has obtained Clinician Nutrition Specialist Certification from the National Board of Nutrition Support Certification (NBNSC).

 

Dr. Pinto-Sanchez is currently an active medical staff in the Gastroenterology Division at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences where she provides consultation services in the area of gastroenterology and Nutrition.

She is leading the Celiac Clinic at McMaster University providing care for approximately 1000 patients per year. Her clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of different gastrointestinal conditions with a focus on celiac disease and gluten-related disorders.

She has received different awards and has over 70 publications in high-impact journals.
